Electronics Quality Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Specialist to work in the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) Sales department. This position reports to the Director of EMS division and belongs to KAGA FEI America., inc. Midwest Office (Schaumburg/Chicago), Illinois Sales Office.
Summary: 

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Electronics Quality Specialist to lead customer quality issue resolution, manage ECN and RMA processes, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role includes analyzing quality claims, coordinating factory investigations, maintaining KPI reports, and conducting regular quality meetings with customers and factories. This position also handles system input for SQC/SDC, supports warehouse audits, and collaborates closely with the Electronics Engineering team on new product launches and technical issues. Strong communication skills and experience with quality systems are essential to maintain high customer satisfaction and drive continuous improvement. 

Quality Management

 Verify details of customer quality complaints or returns and confirm with the factory.  Report temporary actions to the customer within 24 hours and report permanent actions within 7 days.  Obtain the factory's response (analysis results and improvement report presentation) by the deadline and report to the customer.  Input necessary information into the customer's system for SQC, SDC, etc., and close the case. 

Quality Presentation Monthly (KPI Report)

 Compile the factory quality report and submit it to Management once a month.
 Include defect details, improvement details (Before/After), PPM information, and whether recurrence has been prevented. 

Quality Meeting  

 Conduct weekly quality meetings with the factory (current mass production facility)
 Conduct weekly quality meetings with the customer to share the latest information with both the customer and the factory. 

ECN Support
 ECN Document Creation and Management Create two types: factory-facing and customer-facing, to facilitate information sharing via documentation
 Progress prototype production with the factory and manage delivery through to shipment.
 Request factories to attach ORANGE TAGS to prototypes and verify the accuracy of TAG contents
 Confirm the presence of ORANGE TAGS before shipment and send them to customer QA in advance
 List and manage initial shipment information alongside the ECN management sheet (model number, quantity, factory initial shipment date, warehouse initial shipment date, initial shipment serial numbers, etc.)

OSTR information
 Perform Down road from NAL: PLEX System.
 Confirm the contents and distribute to relevant departments (internal/factory).
OSTR contains information such as ECNs, quotes for new models, and updates to new product drawings. Also, OSTR information is automatically deleted after 30 days, so be sure not to miss it.

Request for Sorting Support from the Factory
 Confirm details of the sorting request. Obtain detailed SOP.
 Request to the sorting company
 Proceed with costs borne by the factory. SDC (Supplier Delivery Concern) Response
 Confirm the details of the claim from the customer's system. Verify the specifics with the warehouse or factory.
 For quality defects, both the customer and the factory thoroughly investigate. If the issue is not the factory's fault, cancel the claim with the customer.
 If the issue is the factory's or warehouse's fault, negotiate the costs charged to the customer.
 After cost negotiation, upon receiving the approval email, send the INV Request format to our accounting department.
 Process the costs within the same month as the customer's billing month and the factory/warehouse's billing month. 

RMA (Return Material Authorization) Support
 Confirm costs for customer returns, scrap, etc., and negotiate and approve costs with the factory.
 After factory approval, submit the internal INV Request Form to the accounting department.

Conflict Minerals Response
 Receive conflict minerals inquiries from customers, obtain responses from factories by the deadline, and notify customers

Improving Customer Evaluation
 Aim for 96% or higher on the Supplier Score Card every month.
 Check the quality score and confirm the reasons for low scores.
 If the score is incorrect, request a correction.

Management of Current Product Documentation (System Storage)
 Management of ECN Documents (Document / Initial Shipment Information)
 Management of Conflict Minerals (Factory Requests)
 Storage of Factory Quality Reports (Monthly)
 Storage of Meeting Minutes with Customers and Factories
 Storage of Detailed Sorting Information

Warehouse Operations
 Conduct year-end inventory at the warehouse
 Communication with warehouse personnel

Manage ECN product shipment status negotiates and bill costs related to label errors, etc. Collaborate with the accounting department to issue INV Request Forms and process expenses

Understanding and Supporting the Electronics Engineering Specialist Job Description

 Understand the Electronics Engineering Specialist's responsibilities to ensure our work complements each other. Specifically, since new product launch management, VA/VE proposals, and new model RFQ/RFC management also involve quality work, it is essential to grasp the details and procedures involved. 
 
Qualifications

 Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
 Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical role or equivalent position required
 Experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) field or in electronic component sales is highly desirable  Experience in the automotive industry or in a factory setting is also desirable.
 Experience in technical analysis and quality control in a factory setting.
 Excellent communication skills with customers and factories.
 Proficiency in MS OƯice products, particularly advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
 Experience with ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 standards is a plus.
 Demonstrates appropriate urgency to complete tasks accurately and on time.
Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and activities.
 Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with individuals, teams, and management, and to execute projects autonomously.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, team members, and internal clients.

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per month. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
