SUMMARY OF ROLE The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand and supply planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, and purchase activities for 2 Business Units in Nidec. This role ensures the timely availability of materials and products, cost efficiency, and compliance with company standards and customer requirements. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -- PlanningDevelop and implement demand and supply plans to meet business objectives. Monitor inventory levels and forecast requirements to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Coordinate with production, customer service and sales teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals. -- Warehouse ManagementOversee warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control and efficient material handling. Implement best practices for storage, safety, and space utilization. Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods, maintaining high service levels. -- PurchasingManage purchasing activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management. Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable supply sources. - General Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards. Lead and develop the supply chain team to achieve operational excellence. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, desirable APICS certified Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including planning (strong experience), warehouse, and purchasing.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain software, desirable Oracle. Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. English verbal and written proficiency Skills - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High Leadership and team development capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain management tools.
