Job Description

Reporting to: Project Engineer, Project Managers, CAD Manager on day to day basis

About Role: We are looking for engineers to work within our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team as part of building design. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally. Candidates would need to work 48 hours per week in our Torreón, Mexico office. This is for recent graduates as well as experienced individuals in engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Learning and mastering Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit Strucutre, and Faro Scene
  • Assisting design in drawing production and prepare them for commercial building projects.
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols
  • Learn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildings
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings, 3D models
  • Coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other discipline.
  • Helping to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a team

Qualities and Skills:

  • Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM, Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) is a plus.
  • Have a working knowledge of 1 of the following disciplines: Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or Civil.
  • Interested in learning other areas of the building industry beyond the discipline they know.
  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 one of the following Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily task
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 or higher. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant training will be given to suitable candidate.
