Job Title:Functional Safety EngineerLocation:Wisconsin Duration:Long Term Client: BobcatFunctional Safety Compliance: Work with cross-functional and global teams within Product Development to conduct the ISO 19014 Functional Safety process to support the analysis of new and existing technology including Powertrain, Hydraulics, EV, and other systems Plan & coordinate all necessary functional safety activities encompassing the life cycle of the product, while also defining project responsibilities regarding functional safety Define Safety Goals, UOO, Functional Safety Concept/Technical Safety Concept, Functional Safety Requirements/Technical Safety Requirements, create validation plans, etc. Perform system and component level hardware and software safety analysis and lead assessments including MCSSA, HARA, FTA, FMEA/FMEDA, DC, and MTTF Review software processes for safety-critical products Develop and review/update test procedures in accordance with the product development requirements Develop and maintain product test and evaluation records for maximum utilization of resources in the development of technology to support present and future designs Participate in design process to ensure that all safety requirements are implemented correctly Working knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering or Systems Thinking (preferred) Experience producing clear written technical communications (preferred) Experience designing system, software, or electronic hardware architectures (preferred) Assist engineering in maintaining complete traceability between requirements, implementation, and test resultsCollaboration & Training: Interface closely with internal safety teams to deliver an overall safety strategy Collaborate with supply chain management and engineers to support the development of supplier requirements necessary to achieve functional safety goals Coordinate development timing with key engineering and product management stakeholders Provide leadership on functional safety processesCompliance Documentation: Develop and maintain functional safety compliance documentation methods and systems. Compile the appropriate documentation for supporting the functional safety performance claims. Establish, archive, and execute record retention policy for compliance documentation. Retrieve/produce functional safety compliance documentation as needed for audits or product inquiries.Job RequirementsEducation Required: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline preferred. Functional Safety Engineer Certification preferred. Experience Required: 5 years Travel Required: 25% Experienced in application of functional safety standards for various products including ISO 19014, ISO 13949, ISO 25119, or ISO 26262. Experience conducting Machine Control Safety System Analysis (MCSSA) or Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) including the identification, and understanding of Safety Control Systems (SCS) and determining functional safety performance levels. Experience having taken one or more products from concept through the entire functional safety development process to production. Experience with Embedded System Software Development preferred. In-depth control systems and product knowledge preferred. Compliance Documentation Management - maintaining database of evaluations.
