Job Overview

The accountant is responsible for overseeing and working with the Senior Accountant in the completion of all accounting, purchasing, time reports, expense reports and general support for Bastian Solutions Mexico. This individual will report to the International Accounting Manager in the U.S. with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Bastian Mexico Senior Accountant. The Accountant works very closely with all the Bastian Solutions employees, customers, and suppliers. The Accountant must be comfortable handling a wide variety of tasks.

Job Functions

• Lead completion of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable procedures.
• Collection of information for new Vendors
• Collection of information for new Customers
• Reconciliation of monthly credit card reports
• Follow Corporate level policies and work to embed them into Bastian Mexico operations.
• Work with Senior Accountant on entry of new projects in to D365 including setting up new project budgets, forecasts, on accounts, and closing.
• Work with team to set timely project term billings to optimize cash flow.
• Effectively communicate with Project Managers, Business Unit Managers, and/or Field Application Engineers during bi-monthly project financial review (PFR).
• Identify and problem solve Project issues with minimal assistance.
• Research project cost to complete to optimize earned revenue each month.
• Monitor billable utilization ratios, ensure timecards are entered appropriately on weekly basis.
• Maintain a continuous line of proactive communication with customers’ account payable contacts to resolve past dues, clear any open issues.
• Works with Business Unit Manager and FC&A team to reach unit and corporate goals.
• Write off any uncollectible receivables as directed.
• Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research.
• Selecting and preparing project review reports; recording lessons learned from project review meetings.
• Work with management to schedule and prioritize projects on macro level; ability to prioritize individual tasks on your own.
• Manage Customer Service issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provides timely response to emails and phone calls from internal or external customers. If unable to assist or response will be delayed, communicates to the internal or external customer advising.
• Communicate effectively with other Bastian business units.
• Provide support on audit from SAT/IMSS/foreign trade/JSOX/ etc.
• Provide general business support for marketing, HR, etc.
• Provide support with all related to imports and create the documents needed to have all in order according to foreign trade audit.
• D365 software testing.

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of applicable experience
• Must be fluent in English and able to obtain a Visa to travel the USA.
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software. A working knowledge of Microsoft D365 a plus.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and balance workload to complete assignments within time constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to apply analytical and interpretive skills to problem solving.
• Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems as necessary.
