About the Role The MRP Manager is responsible for ensuring material readiness to support uninterrupted production while optimizing inventory, improving planning discipline, and maintaining alignment across procurement, production, engineering, logistics, and corporate planning. This role translates requirements into time phased schedules, manages supplier execution, leads shortage and alert processes, and drives cross functional coordination to keep the plant building to plan. The MRP Manager maintains rigorous process control through a defined planning practice, safety stock governance, and communication discipline. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, urgency, clarity, and the ability to bring order and stability to fast changing, multi-site organization. This position is onsite and is located in our manufacturing plant in Chihuahua and reports to Corporate Functional Manager with dotted line to Plant Manager. Responsibilities - Convert sales and forecasted demand into production schedules. Adjust plans based on capacity constraints, supplier performance, and execution risks. Lead structured planning reviews with defined accountability. Own initial lead‐time commitments with fast, accurate responses. Validate feasibility against plant constraints and escalate risks early. Communicate exceptions when requirements cannot be met. Monitor material availability daily and escalate potential gaps in supply. Drive cross‐functional actions to resolve shortages. Protect production by preventing line‐stop risks. Create, update, and expedite purchase orders to ensure readiness. Work with suppliers and sourcing to manage pull‐ins, substitutions, and recovery plans. Hold suppliers accountable for critical commitments. Compare requirements against actual plant capacity and identify gaps early. Recommend adjustments, including outsourcing options. Review component and raw‐material safety‐stock attainment regularly. Drive recovery actions to meet targets. Maintain accurate planning parameters (MOQ, min/max, lead time). Lead buffer stock, consignment, and bonded‐inventory program governance. Define stocking levels and replenishment triggers with suppliers. Monitor VMI performance and drive corrective actions. Measurement of Performance - Material shortages prevented or resolved Production aligned to requirements; variance management Customer service level or fill rate achieved Inventory turns and safety stock attainment; recovery actions Accurate and timely alert closure Reliable lead time response Supplier commitment adherence Consistent, accurate planning and action closure Effective cross-functional leadership (supply planning, sourcing, production, regional teams) Clear and consolidated communication Quick, data-driven decision-making Proactive shortage prevention Links plant-level issues with global impacts Education Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Qualifications & Experience - Multi-plant/global manufacturing environment experience Background in molding, stamping, PCB assembly, or discrete manufacturing APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent 5+ years in materials, supply, or production planning Deep knowledge of MRP/ERP systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure Ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication, coordination, and escalation management Travel Travel availability as required.
