The Elasticsearch Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust search and analytics solutions using Elasticsearch, with a strong focus on leveraging Machine Learning and AI to enhance search capabilities. This role involves building and optimizing advanced product search functionalities with complex business rules and implementing learn-to-rank models to improve search relevance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Elasticsearch, data ingestion pipelines, query optimization, and the application of ML/AI to search. Key Responsibilities Cluster Management Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable Elasticsearch clusters. Data Management Develop and manage data indexing strategies and pipelines using tools like Logstash and Filebeat. Advanced Search & Ranking Develop and implement advanced product search functionalities, incorporating complex business rules and learn-to-rank models to enhance search relevance and user experience. Machine Learning & AI Integration Integrate machine learning and AI models into the search platform to enable features such as recommendations, query understanding, and automated ranking improvements. Query Optimization Analyze and optimize search queries and algorithms to ensure fast and accurate results. System Monitoring Monitor the health and performance of the Elasticsearch environment, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise. Collaboration Work closely with development, DevOps, data science, and data engineering teams to integrate Elasticsearch into applications and data workflows. Security Implement and maintain security best practices, including role-based access control and data encryption. Qualifications Required: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Elasticsearch clusters. Strong experience with advanced product search, including the implementation of complex business rules. Demonstrable experience with learn-to-rank and its application in a search context. Experience with Machine Learning and AI, and their integration with search technologies. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Java. Experience with data indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Familiarity with data ingestion tools like Logstash and Filebeat. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Knowledge of other data stores and search technologies. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with Java Spring Boot and Microservices.
