Royal Caribbean Group's Private Destinations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Construction reporting to the Director, Construction. Location: This position will be working onsite from Cozumel/Mahahual. Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager of Construction MEP Engineering with a strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and installations to join our team. This role will oversee assigned land-based projects and manage all phases of construction for our island destinations, ensuring seamless integration of MEP systems into large-scale hospitality and infrastructure projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Oversee and manage all aspects of MEP construction and installation, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders with a focus on MEP vendors and contractors. Drive decision-making for construction project management software and ensure accurate documentation of MEP-related activities. Hold external vendors and contractors accountable for delays, cost overruns, and quality issues related to MEP systems. Lead RCI's involvement in the community to build strategic relationships and embrace local communities. Foster strong relationships with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for multi-million-dollar projects. Direct and manage activities across pre-design, design, pre-construction, construction, and closeout phases, with emphasis on MEP integration. Develop and maintain cost controls for specific programs; interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budgets. Manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program for all construction disciplines, including MEP. Analyze risks and schedule-related issues, including long-lead MEP materials or equipment that may impact project timelines. Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, ensuring technical excellence in MEP systems. Oversee change management processes, including updating logs, routing source documents, obtaining pricing, and developing estimates and proposals. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills - Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience leading commercial construction projects, with proven expertise in MEP systems and installations. Experience with large-scale commercial projects (hospitality, retail, restaurant). Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including design coordination and installation best practices. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in remote or island environments. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management software. PMP certification preferred. High standards of personal accountability and integrity; ability to mentor staff to the same standards. We know there's a lot to consider.
