  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
  • CPA or CA equivalent or experience with US GAAP or IMCP
  • 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, including both public accounting and operational accounting
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to support client relationship management in Mexico and USA
Preferred qualifications:
  • Public accounting experience as well as industry experience in an operational accounting role
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with a focus on business recognition
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to drive complex operational initiatives
  • Excellent problem solving skills, combined with business judgment
About the job

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You have a strong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), as well as experience in researching issues and documenting conclusions. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of accounting processes related to assigned area, including review agreements, develop significant estimates and reserves, accounting policies and memos, perform payment verification, month-end close activities, and balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
  • Partner closely across finance (e.g., FP&A, FinOps, cross-product area, etc.) as well as the business (e.g., Product, Sales, etc.) to support new or ongoing business initiatives, and improve process efficiencies/scalability for continued operational excellence.
  • Review business agreements, provide comments, vet accounting implications, and establish/improve processes to support the operations.
  • Facilitate analytic review, and internal and external year-end audits, and provide insights to drive effective management decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Support system launches and migrations. Participate in system design and testing when applicable.
