The Impact You'll Make We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team of backend and DevOps experts. In this role, you will design and implement scalable, resilient backend services that power products used by millions of users. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges, from extracting services from a monolith to designing robust APIs and data migrations, while ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability. Architect and implement backend systems that are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting millions of active users. Contribute across all phases, including prototyping, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring. Code Quality & Best Practices – Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Tackle challenging engineering problems such as decomposing monolithic applications into microservices, managing large-scale data migrations, and optimizing system performance. Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing practices to ensure system health and reliability. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks. Work closely with DevOps, product managers, and other engineers to ensure smooth integrations and high-quality deliverables. The Qualities That Set You Apart Deep knowledge of Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem, with proven expertise in backend architectures. Database Expertise – Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, with the ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data consistency. Skilled at breaking down complex systems and applying logical, systematic approaches to engineering problems. Quality-Driven Approach – Commitment to writing high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage. Strong communication and teamwork skills, enabling seamless collaboration across engineering and DevOps teams. 5+ years of professional software development experience Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing) Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis Work a truly global with top engineers, designers, and investors who share your ambition to dominate a category.
