Software Engineering Manager/Leader

About the Role
The Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of software engineers and QA resources delivering digital solutions for Mexico technology initiatives. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications aligned with business priorities and global technology standards. The role provides technical direction, supports architecture and delivery decisions, mentors team members, and partners closely with the Product Manager and MX Director, IT Solutions and Operations to translate priorities into execution. The Team Lead is accountable for engineering quality, team performance, delivery reliability, and continuous improvement of development practices. What You’ll Do Engineering Leadership and People Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of developers and QA professionals. Set clear expectations, support performance and growth, create a culture of ownership and engineering excellence, and participate in hiring and onboarding as needed. Technical Direction and Architecture Provide technical leadership for application design, fullstack development, integrations, APIs, and platform modernization. Review solution designs, guide technical decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and reliability standards. Delivery Execution and Agile Management Partner with Product Management and stakeholders to plan sprints, estimate work, manage dependencies, resolve blockers, and ensure delivery commitments are met. Balance speed, quality, technical debt, and operational needs. Quality, Reliability, and Operational Support Ensure strong engineering practices across code review, testing, release readiness, monitoring, incident response, and production support. Partner with QA to improve test strategy and reduce defects. Continuous Improvement and Cross-Functional Collaboration Identify opportunities to improve tools, development processes, team standards, documentation, and collaboration. Work across business, product, technology, and global teams to support alignment and reuse of best practices. What you´ll need: Experience leading software engineering teams or acting as a technical lead for fullstack development initiatives. Strong hands-on background in software development with experience across front-end, back-end, APIs, integrations, and databases. Experience with modern web technologies such as React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or comparable frameworks. Experience with agile delivery, sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and release coordination. Ideal candidate profile Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated ability to coach developers, review technical designs, and improve engineering quality. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology stakeholders. People management experience, including performance management, hiring, mentoring, and career development. Experience modernizing legacy applications or building scalable enterprise platforms. Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and DevOps practices. Experience working in fleet, mobility, logistics, financial services, or operational technology environments. Spanish and English fluency or experience operating in bilingual business environments.
