The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to work offshore aboard the company’s Fast LNG facility on a rotational schedule of 21 consecutive days on duty followed by 21 consecutive days off. The position requires the employee to live and work aboard the offshore facility throughout each 21-day assignment. Crew changes, travel, and work schedules will be based on operational requirements, weather conditions, and marine transportation availability. The role may periodically require travel to the Houston office, vendor facilities, repair shops, or other company locations. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide onsite technical leadership and engineering support for the facility’s critical rotating equipment, including gas turbines, refrigerant compressors, feed gas booster compressors, boil-off gas compressors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems. This position will focus on equipment reliability, condition monitoring, troubleshooting, defect elimination, maintenance strategy, outage planning, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate must be a hands-on, field-oriented engineer who is comfortable working in an offshore operating environment. The individual will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, OEMs, and contractors to evaluate equipment performance, identify developing problems, lead failure investigations, and implement practical solutions that improve safety, availability, reliability, and lifecycle cost.

What you will do:

  • Provide direct, onsite engineering coverage during the assigned 21-day offshore rotation, including support for equipment trips, abnormal operating conditions, emergency repairs, startups, shutdowns, and planned outages.
  • Participate in the offshore duty and emergency-response structure as assigned and remain available to respond to critical rotating equipment issues outside normal working hours while onboard the facility.
  • Complete effective rotational handovers documenting equipment condition, active failures, temporary repairs, outstanding technical issues, planned maintenance, operational risks, and required follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate with the opposite-rotation engineer and onshore support teams to ensure continuity of technical ownership and rotating equipment priorities between crew rotations.

  • Willingness and ability to work offshore on a fixed rotational schedule of 21 consecutive days on duty followed by 21 consecutive days off.
  • Ability to live and work onboard an offshore FLNG facility for the full duration of each 21-day assignment.
  • Ability to work extended offshore shifts and respond to urgent equipment problems outside regularly scheduled hours when operationally required.
  • Willingness to travel by marine vessel, helicopter, or other company-approved transportation to and from the offshore facility.
  • Ability to meet all company, flag-state, coastal-state, medical, security, immigration, and offshore training requirements necessary for assignment to the facility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
