EHS Manager



Job Summary

The EH&S position will provide leadership to metal mechanic factory employees, manage EHS activities, programs, and incident prevention activities at assigned location(s), plan and execute energy reduction projects, and ensure compliance with multinational company, local, state, and national requirements. The position will also be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, policies, training, and procedures. The position will promote a culture of safety and a healthy work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages site in activities to achieve EHS goals and objectives.
  • Drives and promotes zero incident culture and employee engagement throughout the site.
  • Uses established EHS data processes such as local company software to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
  • Train EHS topics to impacted employees and contractors.
  • Evaluate safety data to lead and coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement.
  • Supports creation of EHS goals for the site and leadership team to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
  • Leads energy, emissions, and waste reduction projects to achieve corporate goals.
  • Establish and maintain facility specific management plans for hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials. Audit treatment, storage, disposal, and recycling facilities that handle, process, and dispose all operational wastes.
  • Facilitates Ergo and risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
  • Conduct and manage a thorough internal audit process to evaluate compliance with Stryker’s written standards.
  • Implement and improve the medical & Health company philosophy, very well understanding of Mexican NORMS
  • Develops, implements, and manages a facilities and buildings improvement plan including security of facility.
  • Implements projects for Improving Efficiency and Profitability of Plant
  • Works with project leaders to evaluate new equipment and risk reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety management or experience in a technical environment requiring adherence to strong health and safety practices.
  • Profound knowledge and compliance of all Mexican/legal regulations (NORMAS)
