Job Description Summary
Provide overall leadership and administrative management for assigned personnel. Foster a multi-functional team environment. Provide Product Definition support to all assigned product lines, employing the latest technology while minimizing costs. Satisfy the needs of Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering processes to achieve maximum benefits. Establish and implement cost estimates, goals, plans, and policies. Direct scheduling and design plans to achieve overall business needs. Develop and maintain a productive work environment, promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts to achieve and maintain Drafting and/or Engineering excellence. Being a Lean promoter.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibly of a team with a wide varity of disciplines within DB28, such as PDE focus on Actuation and Mechanical System as well CF34 Turbomachinery, CCBs & Composite.
Champion Model Based Enterprise throughout supported engine programs, specifically Model Based Design, and support development of Model Based Quality in issued Product Definition Data Sets.
Partner with Section Manager and global partners in building and preparing the team for next level business challenges. Role Model in safety compliance and integrity / Spirit and the letter.
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work requires a good understanding of mechanical design principles and analysis
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Remain cognizant of state-of-the-art technologies in the relevant technical domain and promote the application of same in the team.
Provide overall leadership and administrative management.
The SSM is responsible for the technical recommendations of the team to the programs and the leadership organization.
Define and support section KPIs within their module/discipline.
Responsible of team operation and health. Team champion and advocate, actively supports team presentations and reviews.
Advocate of safety, actively addresses concerns and builds an inclusive and diverse culture
Remain cognizant of state-of-the-art technologies in the relevant technical domain and promote the application of same in the team.
Identification and development of resources aligned to business needs at the subsection level.
Is responsible to translate section/discipline/product strategy in to objectives or deliverables aligned with our true north metrics. (Safety, quality, delivery and cost)
Ensure to implement in LEAN principles in driving business outcomes of Support Equipment Team.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position
Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that do not affect clear understanding). Must have fluency, rhythm, and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
Demonstrated solid technical skills and experience aligned with the team’s scope
Point of contact between counterparts and GEIQ
Responsible for an entire organization within GEIQ
Experienced in management of budgets, HC, and program approval
Strong technical contributions to the team
Responsible for the follow-up and completion of programs
Experience coordinating relevant projects with greater autonomy/ownership
Experience managing high levels of conflict and labor issues
Demonstrated Project Management skills or the ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close, and manage programs, projects, orders, activities, or systems.
Highly independent management of GE processes
Strategic planning and execution
Proven experience successfully managing LPB employee
Desired Characteristics
Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through Lean initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
Strong knowledge of MBE
