Cash Applications Supervisor

Supervises Accountants and/or Accounting Specialists responsible for daily general ledger activities and account reconciliations including workload distribution and assignment of tasks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Accounting Supervisor:

• Performs financial statement analysis via practical analytical techniques, identifies significant operational/financial variances, and determines reasons for variances.

• Prepares monthly account analysis of balance sheet accounts, develops adjusting entries as needed, and reviews status of all significant accounts with General Accounting Manager.

• Coordinates the preparation and entry of month-end journal entries by the defined required date.

• Complete all journal entries.

• Analyze assigned P&;L accounts and timely book any necessary entries Accurately transmit financial data to Corporate in the next business day after month-end close is completed.

• Prepares required financial reports for corporate accounting as well as those required for generation of internal financial package.

• Interacts with operating group to resolve problems, performs research and support.

• Works on interface problems between financial systems and division systems.

• Works on foreign account financial support, which include:

• GL account mapping, facilitation of the transfer of financial data from Foreign Systems into US Systems as required.

• Facilitate all internal / external audit requests and or special projects.

Knowledge and Skill:

• Good analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting. Principles Proficiency in PC spreadsheet and accounting software.

• Working familiarity with tax laws and regulations.

• Demonstrated supervisory skills.

• Initiate and communicate a variety of personnel actions (employment, termination, performance and salary reviews for assigned employees.

Work experience requirements:

• Five (5) years of Accountant experience with previous lead or supervisory experience

Education & Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent education and years of experience required.

• Distinguishing Characteristics

• This position possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of accounting to the successful completion of difficult assignments.

• This position normally supervises Accountants or a combination of Accountants and Accounting Specialists.
