As a manager in the Commercial IT SSD Data, Analytics and AI Critical Operations Team, responsibilities will include the following:

Responsibilities

Leading critically important operations to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of key systems

Leading a team of operations professionals, implementing standard processes, and developing strategies to maintain operational excellence under various conditions

Collaborate with multi-functional teams to establish and enhance processes that give to the overall success and resilience of Data, Analytics and AI critical operations

Identify and help drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance automation to ensure products are delivered in a timely manner and of quality

Maintain solid understanding of platforms and business acumen enabling balanced strategy-aligned roadmap management and prioritized backlog delivery

Team Leadership

Line manager responsibility for a team of operations professionals, providing mentoring, helping them create personal development plans and achieve their goals

Collaborate with HR for team development, identifying and hiring new talent, and performance management

Identify and prioritize key operational initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability

Lead staffing model strategy across shifts, ensuring teams are right sized to provide adequate support coverage to meet operational demands

Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security & Business Teams to ensure alignment of critical operations with business objectives

Operations and Incident Management

Be responsible for the development and execution of incident response plans for critical systems

Lead the response to major incidents (P1/P2) system outages and critical failures and delays), ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact on operations

Facilitate communication and coordination during critical incidents

Evaluate existing operational processes and workflows, finding opportunities for improvement

Implement standard methodologies to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency

Collaborate with Platform Success & DevOps teams to identify and mitigate operational risks

Ensure Critical Operations team is trained and is using the latest supervising solutions to ensure real-time transparency into product and platform health and performance

Service Introduction

Ensure comprehensive documentation is available for critical operations processes, procedures, and incident response plans

Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members

Ensure a structured knowledge transition process is established and followed for acceptance of new service

Requirements

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience in a leadership role supervising critical operations or IT operations
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations management
  • Experience with incident response frameworks and methodologies
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skill in high-pressure situations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • Customer engagement experience
  • Knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark) and data storage solutions (e.g. data lakes, warehouses)
  • Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow)
  • Demonstrable experience in identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities
  • Solid understanding of Agile Software Development techniques and Methodologies
  • Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
