Job DescriptionAECOM seeks an Environmental Scientist II for employment in Mexico City office.
Principal functions:
- Monitoring of environmental impact studies in civil works
- Analyze and recommend devices and measures for the conservation and rescue of impacted flora and fauna
- Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
- Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
- Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
- Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
- Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Works under general supervision.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Engineering or other related field required + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience:
- Experience performing environmental field work, environmental impact assessment, risk assessment, ISO 9000
- Able to use spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Interest in Environment and/or Social Work
- Flexibility to work on a variety of technical projects, a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
- Previous work experience in Environmental projects, social projects, specific offshore or hydrocarbon projects.
Preferences:
- 5 years of experience
- Languages: Bilingual: fluent Spanish and English
