Job Description:

The R&D Director provides overall strategic leadership and governance to research and development taking care of innovation, efficiency, and business continuity, while leading R&D functional and talent strategies, as well as being the custodian of nutritional profile, winning design for all Pet Nutrition portfolio in Mexico. Guarantee proper resource allocation both financial and talent. The role is responsible for all aspects of R&D for Mexico. The R&D Director is a key member of the Mexico Leadership team and plays a crucial role in the management and delivery of growth targets and performance goals for the unit. Also a key member of the Extended Global R&D Leadership Team. 

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in team management/leadership, experience building high performing teams in research and development for FMCG industries, preferably including 4 years of R&D in a business environment with focus on food process development and deployment.

  • Innovation development and management.

  • Experience working with global / remote teams. 

  • People leadership and talent development experience.

  • English proficiency.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Responsible for the development of a strong technical and leadership talent pipeline for Mexico and contributing to the global R&D function. Leads a team across different technological platforms (Dry, Wet and C&T). 

  • Support on Quality and Food Safety agenda, ensuring delivery of nutritional products with winning product design and of high quality and safe products to pets and pet parents.

  • Leads the co development and delivery of Mexico innovation pipeline (growth & efficiency initiatives).  Oversees all activity development, scale up and commercialization.  Ensures team fully contributes to the key business management processes and forums. 

  • As priority Country, participates on global forums representing Mexico needs, negotiating resources and targets to guarantee business success.

  • Enables delivery of sustainability programs - through local and global initiatives and leveraging and implementing global initiatives.
