QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Master’s preferred in areas related to corporate law
  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to translate legal concepts into practical, actionable advice
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of civil, mercantile, and labor Mexican legislation
  • Experience drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Experience providing labor counseling
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple work assignments under tight timeframes

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Structuring, drafting, reviewing, and analyzing agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Give accurate and timely counsel.
  • Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
  • Responding to external/internal comments while ensuring required legal terms are reflected in a contract.
  • Collaborating with peers and leaders in legal, HR and purchase departments to ensure project and deal outcomes align with proprieties.
  • Understanding and staying current with industry trends and the legal and regulatory landscape of the business
  • Monitoring and assisting in revising and updating standard agreements, templates, and tools for our internal business partners.
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors.
  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
  • Supporting other commercial practice areas within BRP as the need may arise since BRP is constantly evolving
