Job Description
The System Project Leader acts as system architect and technical counterpart to the Project Manager and is responsible to plan and coordinate global multi-disciplinary engineering activities to achieve the project goals. Responsible for making sure the technical team understands and fulfills the customer requirements on specification, on schedule and on budget.
- Budget planning and reporting for system-level engineering, development and testing efforts
- Ensure development, validation, and release at system level according to schedule, guidelines, requirements and specifications
- Lead international cross-functional technical teams including requirements, testing, functional safety, vehicle application and cybersecurity
- Direct working collaboration with international cross-functional technical teams including mechanical, hardware, software
- Responsible for risk management within system discipline scope
- Support problem solving and root cause analysis activities
- Completion of final engineering release at system level
- Develop and maintain a positive OEM relationship as key technical point of contact and engineering lead
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Mechatronic Engineering or related technical field (Mechanical, Electronic, Computer Systems, Industrial) or equivalent.
Required skills:
- Project management: stakeholder management, schedule management, risk management, resource management, quality management
- Excellent communication, assertiveness, ability to negotiate and convey complex abstract ideas to global teams and OEMs
- Organizational awareness and development of relationships
- Leadership
- Goal-oriented mindset
- Capable to work independently in an organized and structured fashion
- Problem solving abilities
Preferred skills:
- Experience with product development
- Experience with safety-critical products, especially with moving parts
Languages:
- English: advanced level (both written and verbal)
Tools:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
Additional Information
Travel required approximately 10% of the time within Mexico or USA
