Job Description:

The job of the MPS/DRP Manager is to administrate the processes related to the planning and control of the finished goods production and distribution to guarantee product availability with the lower possible cost and inventory.

In order to do that, the MPS/DRP team interacts with demand planning to receive the expected FG demand, calculates the production and distribution volumes needed, projects the inventory levels, build and lead the S&OP+ projections, align with manufacturing and logistics the resource needs and constraints and replan/control the execution based on the interaction with sales and customers services in the CMOS process.

As can be seen, this job has a key role in the coordination of the operational activities during the period, in the product availability, in the cost projections and in the S&OP process. 

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Develop and periodically review FG inventory policies in line with SMI (Supply Management & Inventory) standards.
  • Ensure compliance with FG inventory policies.
  • Maximize demand fulfillment by monitoring market performance and adjusting production planning.
  • Manage fulfillment risks and availability with Customer Services and Demand teams, playing a key role in the CMOS (Customer Market Order Service) process.
  • Utilize Apollo in planning processes.
  • Standardize FG planning processes and integrate with S&OP+ and CMOS standards.
  • Align with Mars global Supply Planning communities and regional SC (Supply Chain) development teams on processes and tools.
  • Continuously improve CF (Customer Fill), FR (Forecast Reliability), and FROT (Frequency of Replenishment Over Target) levels.
  • Reduce inventory levels and obsolescence write-offs, reflected in DFGO (Days of Finished Goods Outstanding) and write-offs KPIs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to build and improve the ATS (Available to Sell), focusing on customer centricity.
  • Manage phase-ins and phase-outs of products, coordinating with project and marketing teams.
  • Automate and reduce non-value added activities in FG planning processes, enhancing analysis capabilities.
  • Proactively address availability restrictions, cost exceptions, and service risks in CMOS and S&OP+ processes, exploring alternate scenarios.
  • Align S&OP planned operations with actual operations, improving asset utilization and cost effectiveness.
  • Foster a high-performance planning team, implementing engagement actions and succession planning.
  • Assess and ensure appropriate planning capabilities and best practices within the team.

  • Experience on production and operations planning (MPS/MRP/DRP/Kanban)
  • Experience with procurement and call-off operations
  • Experience with SAP system (R/3 PP/MM modules)
  • Familiarity with S&OP process
  • Advanced expertise on MSOffice (mainly Excel)
  • Knowledge on manufacturing and logistics operations
  • High interpersonal relationship abilities, with persuasive profile and advanced negotiation skills
