Specialist Data Engineer

MMCÂ is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mexico City office and be onsite 3 days a week:Â Â Specialist Data Engineer
What can you expect?
- The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data pipelines and architectures that support our organization's data needs.
- Working closely with data scientists, analysts to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data systems.
- Work in tandem with source system and application teams to integrate and establish data pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter.
- Understand data landscape i.e., tooling, tech stack, source systems etc. and work closely with extended platform teams to improve data collection, quality, reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
We will count on you to:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
- Engaged to the specific projects of the Mercerâs business applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams (such as MPower, Intellify, Anaplan, FP&A, Client Connect) to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security throughout the entire data lifecycle.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
- Support the existing daily/monthly/on-demand processes.
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
- Actively contribute toward our culture of continuous learning by proactively identifying and evangelizing best practices globally.
What you need to have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelorâs degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
- 5+ years of relevant Data Ingestion/ETL/ELT, Informatica PowerCenter, Big Data and Data Visualizations experience in mission-critical platforms.
- Expert knowledge and experience in writing SQL scripts, DDLs, materialized views, etc. Power BI knowledge. Experience in trouble shooting, tuning mappings.
- Experience with schema design and dimensional data modelling.
- Experience working on AWS and related services (not limited to) such as Glue, Athena, S3.
- Must have experience working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing expectations and requirements (Agile)
- Knowledge of the IDMC platform (Informatica's AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud)
