Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our license to operate and in protecting the well-being of our employees and the surrounding community. In this role, you will report to the site's Operations Director.What You Will DoLead and manage the implementation of EHSS strategies aligned with the group's overall objectives to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage all required reporting and documentation.Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.Develop and implement specific tools and initiatives to increase awareness and capability in EHS, achieving EHSS objectives.Conduct regular inspections and audits (Gembas) of the facilities and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance.Lead investigations to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.Develop and sustain an adequately resourced and effective EHS function, maintaining robust succession plans and enabling career development for EHSS team members.Exercise authority to stop any process or activity or provide coaching when unsafe conditions or behaviors are detected that could risk worker health or environmental integrity.Oversee the Process Safety Management program for highly hazardous chemicals, including process hazard analyses, and develop the management of change (MOC) procedures.Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal.Develop and deliver EHS training for employees at all organizational levels.Track and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and improve decision-making, share learnings and best practices across zones and global initiatives.What You Need To Be SuccessfulBachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.Proven experience with Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both management and hourly employees.Knowledge of Mexican regulations (STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, local authorities).English 90%, advanced English level (reading and writing that allow fluid presentations).Bonus Points if You HaveCertified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar professional certification is strongly preferred.Knowledge of international EHS regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).Knowledge of corporate sustainability programs, carbon footprint reduction, or circular economy practices.Ability to use tools like Power BI or advanced Excel for EHS performance dashboards and predictive analysis.What Makes You EligibleSuccessfully completing a background investigation and drug screen is a condition of employment.Be willing to work in a manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico.What We OfferFlexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer locationAccess to employee discounts on world-class Harman and Samsung products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN UniversityCompetitive wellness benefitsTuition reimbursement“Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards programAn inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
