OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager, Java Engineering, to lead the design, development, and integration of scalable, high‑performance microservices powering critical retail, store operations, supply‑chain, and financial services capabilities.

This role blends deep technical leadership with strong domain expertise to accelerate discovery, shape architecture, and deliver enterprise-grade solutions in high‑velocity, high‑impact environments. Your ImpactLead Java microservices development that supports core retail functions, including store operations, inventory management, order flows, and POS/financial services integrations. Architect, design, and implement distributed, cloud-native systems ensuring high performance, resilience, and security. Translate complex business domains into actionable technical insights, process maps, and integration strategies—particularly across in‑store workflows, replenishment processes, operational dependencies, and supply‑chain flows.

Assess, evaluate, and integrate POS systems, payment platforms, and large‑scale financial services systems to enhance store‑level and enterprise‑level operations. Partner closely with product managers, architects, supply‑chain leaders, finance partners, and store‑operations SMEs to build and align technical roadmaps. Drive engineering excellence through best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, and microservices governance. Mentor and lead engineering teams, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and strong delivery discipline.

Operate effectively within accelerated discovery cycles and time‑bound, high‑pressure environments with minimal ramp‑up. Stay current with the latest in Java, microservices, cloud computing, event-driven architectures, and retail tech innovation to continually elevate the platform. QualificationsSkills & ExperienceTechnical Expertise10+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Proven experience developing scalable, cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. Strong understanding of RESTful services, event-driven architectures, and messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing suites, and DevOps tooling. Expertise in designing distributed systems with deep knowledge of observability, reliability, and performance optimization.

Retail, Store Operations & Supply-Chain Domain KnowledgeStrong retail and store operations expertise, enabling rapid onboarding into discovery programs. Deep understanding of supply-chain and inventory management, including replenishment cycles, operational dependencies, and in‑store flow mapping. Hands‑on experience with POS systems, payment orchestration, settlement systems, and financial‑services integrations at scale. Ability to quickly understand and decompose complex business domains into technical artifacts and system architectures.

Leadership & Delivery5+ years in engineering leadership or people management, guiding high‑performing teams. Proven track record delivering complex enterprise systems in high‑pressure, fast-moving environments. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a decision-making mindset.

Set Yourself Apart WithExperience in domain‑driven design (DDD), microservices governance, and bounded context modeling. Knowledge of reactive programming and asynchronous communication patterns. Certifications in Java, Spring, cloud platforms, or architecture disciplines. Background in omnichannel, logistics, order orchestration, or modern retail technology ecosystems.
