Senior Software Engineer/Architect – Electronics Marelli is one of the world’s leading global independent suppliers to the automotive sector, with a long-standing record of innovation and manufacturing excellence. As a member of the Electronics Engineering & Innovation team, you will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager and will be based in the Mexico office in Aguascalientes or Tepotzotlán. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of software solutions for electronic systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including hardware engineers and project managers, to gather requirements and deliver integrated solutions. Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance software development processes. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Conduct code reviews and design assessments to ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards. Develop and maintain architecture documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders. Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies throughout the software development lifecycle. Oversee the implementation of software that meets functional, quality, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Over 10 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a focus on electronic systems. Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks relevant to electronic systems (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java). Strong knowledge of embedded systems and real‑time operating systems (RTOS). Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps software development methodologies. Preferred Skills Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in software architecture. Experience with Machine Learning, AI, IoT, and Cloud Computing. Familiarity with project management tools and techniques. Understanding of automotive networking protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Skills in UI/UX design. Expectations Excellent problem‑solving abilities, capable of working under tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Track record of leading large‑scale software projects and guiding development teams. Effectiveness in a global team environment, adapting communication styles to cultural nuances.
