Job Overview The Senior Quality Engineer is in charge of establishing tactical plans and managing resources to meet plant quality objectives and maintain quality certifications. The role negotiates decisions with peers from other departments, represents the plant, and drives quality while ensuring integrity of the quality system. The Engineer leads activities related to quality and is responsible for new product introduction, engineering change notices, deviation requests and corrective actions (CI, 8-D, etc.). The role requires teamwork orientation, effective communication in Spanish and English, and leadership of quality disciplines. Responsibilities Plan and maintain internal KPIs in support of quality and plant divisional KPIs Take corrective actions with multidisciplinary groups to ensure those actions are effective and permanent Plan resources to balance workloads for the personnel coordinated by the Engineer Capacitate engineers, technicians and inspectors of quality to support quality objectives Certify personnel in critical operations (test, inspection and calibration) Plan, establish and execute savings projects for the quality department and the whole site aligned with the plant’s continuous improvement strategy Fulfill requirements outlined in policies, regulations and safety procedures applicable to the manufacturing site Plan, execute and follow up NPD/NPI controls Plan, execute and follow up ECN controls Plan, execute and follow up DR controls Plan, execute, follow up and communicate customer’s corrective actions Attend trainings required by the company Authority Implement quality holds and stop shipments when there is any risk associated with the products being stored or in transit Take decisions regarding lot acceptance status when defined acceptance criteria are not clear, including overriding decisions previously taken by a quality engineer Authorize deviation requests in compliance with processes and procedures for that purpose Certify personnel in critical operations (test, inspection and calibration) Issue corrective action when it is deemed required Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or other disciplines related to the business platform Basic knowledge of Minitab Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office English written and conversational levels At least 5 years in quality electronics areas Knowledge in problem‑solving methods Knowledge in ISO 9001 Knowledge of acceptance criteria per IPC 610 Desired Skills Master’s degree in quality or administration Intermediate statistical knowledge (ANOVA, DOE) IPC 610 certified Experience in other departments in addition to quality Six sigma Green Belt certification Certified internal auditor ISO 9001 Our Commitment to Our People We believe that our culture of passion, openness and collaboration empowers us to work toward a sustainable future.
