OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our month-end close process and partner closely with Revenue Operations and Sales on customer contracts, billing, and revenue recognition. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally, improving processes, and gaining exposure to the full order-to-cash lifecycle. This search is confidential but we are a SaaS company based in the area with locations in New York, Canada and EuropeKey ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Accounting OperationsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysisPrepare and maintain balance sheet and income statement reconciliationsSupport audit and compliance requests with accurate documentationHelp improve close efficiency, controls, and documentationCustomer Contracts & RevenueReview customer contracts for billing terms, pricing, and revenue implicationsPartner with Revenue Operations to ensure accurate setup of:ContractsBilling schedulesRevenue recognition rulesAssist with revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606)Track deferred revenue and support monthly revenue rollforwardsBilling & Order-to-CashSupport customer billing, invoicing, and creditsInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies in partnership with Sales, Rev Ops, and Customer SuccessMonitor AR-related activity and assist with reporting and reconciliationsHelp maintain clean data between CRM, billing, and accounting systemsCross-Functional CollaborationAct as a key finance partner to Revenue Operations and SalesSupport deal review processes to ensure accounting and billing accuracy prior to bookingHelp identify process gaps and recommend improvements across systems and workflowsCommunicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders on accounting and billing topicsQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (public or industry)Strong understanding of basic accounting principlesExperience or exposure to month-end closeHigh attention to detail with strong organizational skillsAbility to work cross-functionally and communicate clearlyPreferredExperience with:SaaS or subscription-based business modelsBilling and revenue recognitionCRM and accounting systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Stripe, Zuora, etc.)Exposure to ASC 606Interest in process improvement and systems automationCPA or CPA-track a plusWhat Success Looks LikeMonth-end close tasks completed accurately and on timeContracts and billing set up correctly the first timeRevenue is recognized appropriately and supported with clear documentationStrong working relationships with Rev Ops and SalesIncreasing ownership of accounting processes over timeWhy Join UsHands-on exposure to end-to-end accounting and revenue processesOpportunity to partner with Sales and Revenue OperationsHigh-impact role in a growing organizationRoom to grow into senior accounting or revenue-focused roles
