1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsThe main goal of this position is the responsibility for managing ERP systems environments. The IT ERP System Administrator (QAD) will work with a global team to provide world-wide coverage of ERP systems and availability in compliance of Segregation of Duty defined by Corporate Systems Security. Also responsible for ensuring data reliability with a consistent retention plan, back up and restorations. Will develop, document and implement best-practice standards for the administration, management of ERP systems, leading peers in the implementation of these standards, communicating standards, providing consultancy for ERP environment concerns, and reporting to management the operational status of the server environment. Your manager will be kept informed of progress toward the goal, issues, problems, conflicts and opportunities to help guide the project toward completion.Essential Functions:This position reports to the IT Director Enterprise Applications and has no direct or indirect reports.This role requires up to 10% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays.Flexible schedule, with the expectation to have the ability to report into the office as needed; a working schedule that provides some overlap with core US-based team hours between 7 am and 5 pm CST is needed.Apply Agile, Waterfall or other similar application lifecycle methodology to develop solutions.Maintain ERP systems availability, administer application users, security create and monitor background and batch processes.Install, configure and update ERP system software, Assure system backups and recoverability.Troubleshoot technical issues and interface with vendor application support.Ensure systems and applications created under his/her responsibility adhere to departmental standards, appropriate controls and audit trails exist, and that new systems and programs are thoroughly tested prior to installation in the production environment.Identify and document gaps between current and future systems and administration process.Develop technical systems architecture and Infrastructure design along with Interfaces and databases.Lead project team and end users in sizing environments, validation and monitor for high availability.Collaborate with project team to help resolve system issues identified and Provide end-user application support.Provide on-going application technical administration support and participate in application reviews.Provide documentation, technical specifications and infrastructure requirements for each development project.Continuously monitor industry trends, standards and technologies. Research, recommend and apply new technologies.Perform feasibility analysis considering technical, infrastructural, organizational and economic aspects to alternative solutions.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience.5+ years of experience in QAD ERP system administration in a global enterprise level environment.Experience working with various versions of QAD (eB 2.1, 201* SE, 201/2* EE) and Progress (10.* and 11.*).Experience installing and supporting QAD tools and utilities like QRF, Database monitoring, Batch processing, Backup and Recovery, Database refreshes, QXTEND, CIM interfaces, QAD Excelerator and NETUI clients.Experience supporting QAD installations on Linux/Windows and Progress/Oracle database backends.Ability to understand and write Progress 4GL programs, Linux shell scripts, SQL queries, Python scripts.Intermediate level of QAD techno functional and setups.Experience with latest versions of Unix, Windows operation system and Unix shell scripting.Basic IT programming languages understanding skill and Azure platform skills.Experience supporting and implementing ERP Disaster Recovery solutions.Thorough understanding of Batch Processing tools and 4GL/SQL coding.Experience in Business Application, Production Control disciplines and Change Management.Working with database servers like Progress DB, Oracle database and MSSQL databases and data recovery, integrity and security.Working experience with GitHub and Azure Dev Ops process.Understanding Complex SQL Concepts with Oracle PL SQl and MSSQL query languages.Good understanding of SDLC, DevOps and Release management process.Agile and Sprint development experience.Experience with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing and test case writing, documentation, application trouble shooting and requirements analysis, estimation and technical support.Service desk or any similar request management system experience.Must be team and result oriented.Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and proficient in English (written and verbal).Ability to effectively communicate and understand business user.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, MIS or related field from an accredited university.High level of initiative and self-motivation.Ability to work with development team to update non-production environments.Consult on best practices for system administration.Advise and assist on upgrades and implementations.Assist in creating and maintaining disaster recovery solutions.Experience of tools like Protop or similar.Seniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Valmont Industries, Inc. by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
