ABOUT THE ROLE As a Lead Java Backend Engineer you’ll own complex services end to end, shape architecture, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, frontend, and cloud teams. WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead backend development from ideation to implementation Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality services Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs powering Practice Growth products Introduce improved architectures and patterns Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers Shape engineering standards, design reviews, and best practices Stay up to date with industry advancements Improve scalability, maintainability, and performance of the backend stack Work closely with frontend engineers for smooth integration Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to improve deployments, observability, and performance Integrate external systems, services, and vendors Design backend components to support new initiatives and gaps Ensure services are reliable, secure, and optimized for high traffic MUST HAVE 8+ years of experience as a backend software engineer Expert level proficiency in Java and strong experience with Python Deep experience with Spring Boot or Flask Strong experience with AWS or GCP, including serverless, containerization, and services Proven ability to design high availability and high performance microservice applications Strong understanding of PostgreSQL or MySQL and MongoDB or Redis Deep understanding of backend architecture principles, caching, security, and integration patterns Strong leadership skills with mentoring experience Excellent written and verbal communication in English NICE TO HAVE Experience integrating AI vendor services or external inference systems Experience with large‑scale distributed systems Experience in the healthcare industry or digital media Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure management PERKS AND BENEFITS Professional growth and mentorship programs Competitive USD‑based compensation and budgets for education, fitness, and team activities Projects with modern solutions and Fortune 500 enterprises Flextime and remote/work‑from‑home options #J-18808-Ljbffr
