Senior Data Architect

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect with strong experience in Microsoft Fabric to lead the design, review, and evolution of analytics platforms built on the Microsoft ecosystem. This role is highly architectural and consultative, focused on assessing existing architectures, defining technical standards, ensuring best practices, and guiding teams in the correct adoption of Microsoft Fabric — with a strong emphasis on scalability, governance, and data quality. Key Responsibilities Analyze existing data architectures (including ADF, Azure SQL, Lakehouse, Warehouse) and identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities. Design and document technical guidelines and minimum standards for proper Microsoft Fabric usage, including: Workspace organization Naming conventions Lakehouse/Warehouse structure Refresh strategies Permissions and security Define target architectures based on modern principles (Lakehouse / Medallion), oriented toward scalability, governance, and performance in complex corporate environments. Review critical pipelines and data processes to detect structural issues (without developing them), providing clear recommendations for stabilization and improvement. Collaborate with Data Analysts and BI teams to define basic data quality controls and validate end-to-end technical and functional integrity. Support internal teams in adopting Microsoft Fabric best practices: workspace administration, load optimization, consumption patterns, performance tuning, and cost management. Lead knowledge transfer sessions and technical training on Microsoft Fabric, its components, recommended patterns, and architectural implications. Contribute architectural vision for future evolution toward more robust architectures (e.g., Bronze/Silver/Gold Medallion layers), even if implementation is out of immediate scope. Required Qualifications Must-have Proven hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including: Lakehouse Warehouse Fabric Pipelines Dataflows Gen2 Power BI Strong experience in enterprise data architecture, governance, and scalable analytics platform design. Experience in data platform migration projects on Azure or similar ecosystems. Solid knowledge of best practices for ingestion, object organization, permissions, security, refresh strategies, and performance optimization in Fabric. Ability to produce clear, structured documentation aimed at guiding both technical and business teams. Strong analytical skills to identify architectural issues and propose realistic, scalable, and well‑justified solutions. Professional or bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish is required. Nice to have Experience with Lakehouse / Medallion architectures. Familiarity with ADF, Azure SQL, Delta Lake, or Databricks. Experience applying data quality and validation practices. Background in technical training, enablement, or mentoring of internal teams. Soft Skills Strong consultative mindset, focused on diagnosis and problem‑solving. Excellent technical communication and conceptual clarity. Ability to explain and justify architectural decisions to mixed audiences. High level of organization, autonomy, and prioritization. Collaborative and supportive approach to working with internal teams.
