We are supporting a global Tier 1 automotive supplier in the search for a Commodity Buyer (Metals / Fasteners) to join its organization in Querétaro. This is a cradle-to-grave purchasing role, with full ownership of the commodity lifecycle: from sourcing and business award, through launch, serial production, service, and end-of-life.Key Responsibilities:Own the assigned metal commodity end-to-end, from sourcing through serial production, service, and phase-out.Develop and execute the commodity strategy aligned with regional and global business objectives.Lead supplier negotiations and annual savings initiatives to meet or exceed cost and PPV targets.Drive savings through VA/VE activities in collaboration with Engineering and cross-functional teams.Manage RFQs, award new business at or below target cost, and ensure on-time sourcing and launches.Build, manage, and optimize a competitive supplier panel, including contracts, performance, and risk management.Monitor metals market trends, conduct benchmarking, and ensure competitive global pricing.Act as the main commodity interface with internal stakeholders and suppliers across the Americas.Profile Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in global purchasing or supply chain, preferably within automotive or commercial vehicle environments.Strong background in metals commodities (steel required; fasteners experience preferred).Proven track record of delivering savings through negotiations and VA/VE initiatives.Experience working in global, matrixed, and multicultural environments.Excellent business-level English.Experience with SAP.Job Offer:Salary range of 65,000 - 75,000 pesos.Superior benefits.Hybrid work model: 4 days on-site at the plant, 1 day home office.
