Your Purpose As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for partnering with specific business units to expand and optimize our data architecture. You will not just execute on requests; you will be expected to be proactive: analyzing current processes, proposing data‑oriented solutions, implementing automated quality checks (Data Observability) and generating tangible business value from our data assets. While your primary focus is supporting the business strategy, you will also serve as a key liaison to the Data Platform team. You will contribute to platform projects and support shared initiatives, ensuring we are not only delivering value fast but building scalable standards together. Reports To Data Engineering Manager Who You Are Proven English fluency. 3+ years professional working experience with analytics, ETLs and data systems. 3+ years with SQL databases, data lake, big data and cloud infrastructure. 3+ years experience with Spark. BS or Masters in Computer Science or similar. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and AWS. Excellent business acumen: you can translate complex business questions into technical data solutions. Proactive mindset: you look for ways to automate and improve. Strong collaboration skills: you thrive working with both non-technical stakeholders and core platform engineers. Strong data modeling skills (specifically dimensional modeling for business analytics). What You Will Do Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual work, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and business impact. Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders (Growth, Finance, Product, Operations) to understand their goals and propose technical solutions that generate value and insight. Build processes required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, and Spark. Collaborate closely with the Data Platform team: participate in platform initiatives, provide feedback on tooling, and occasionally contribute code or support to core platform projects to ensure alignment and innovation. Apply concepts of data integrity, data quality, and data security to ensure business units can trust the data they use daily. Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with transactional and analytical databases. Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets. Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management. Drive innovation by experimenting with new ways to model or process data that could give the business a competitive edge.
