YOUR TASKS FORVIA HELLA is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to contribute to the development of software for our next‑generation Power Distribution Unit (PDU). This role supports the success of our intelligent Power Distribution Module (iPDM) programs, which feature eFuse technology, fail‑operational power supply, and zone‑based architectures. Key Responsibilities Participate in the design, development, and testing of embedded software for PDU systems across the product lifecycle. Develop and maintain real‑time embedded software using C for microcontrollers (16/32‑bit). Support model‑based development using tools like MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE TargetLink. Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate eFuse technology and ensure robust power management. Assist in software architecture design, code reviews, and unit testing. Analyze system requirements and translate them into software specifications. Support diagnostics, data acquisition, and fail‑operational mechanisms for safety‑critical functions. Work closely with cross‑functional teams including hardware, systems, and validation engineers. Configure and integrate AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules (e.g., communication, memory, diagnostic stacks). Adapt and validate Runtime Environment (RTE) and ensure proper interaction between application software and BSW. Perform integration testing and resolve interface issues between application layers and AUTOSAR components. Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. 3+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive domain. Proficiency in C, with experience in real‑time systems, AUTOSAR, and embedded toolchains. Hands‑on experience with AUTOSAR configuration tools (e.g., Vector DaVinci Configurator/Developer). Experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, and other automotive communication tools. Familiarity with eFuse technology, power distribution systems, and zone controllers is a plus. Knowledge of functional safety and software validation practices. Knowledge of AGILE software development methodologies. Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems. Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools such as GitLab. Ability to work in a structured development environment with continuous integration and automated testing. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Fluent in English. Preferred Skills Exposure to software‑defined vehicle architectures and zonal E/E systems. Basic understanding of ASIC integration, thermal management, and power integrity. Scripting skills (Python or CAPL) for automation.
