CAD DESIGNER Mexico City Hybrid - 2/3 Days Onsite We are looking for a CAD Designer who will be based in CDMX. This position reports to the Mexicos CAD Design Engineering Manager. The primary responsibility is to provide design support to the Project Engineers, working with a team of engineers on all design & engineering decisions for Nextpowers projects, including site plans, mechanical sheet sets, foundation drawings, bill of materials, wind loading analysis, value engineering, and various other design or engineering tasks to support project quoting and execution phases. The role may also interface with engineering teams in the US and India, as well as Sales, Project Management, and R&D teams at Nextpower offices worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets. Review pertinent site information and design inputs and assist in selecting appropriate product types based on site conditions. Work with the India office to update new product configurations, drafting standards, and potentially develop automation procedures. Conduct value engineering exercises with the Project Engineering team to reduce project costs. Coordinate with Nextpowers Designers in other regions to create and update new product standards, design changes, and project-related issues. Learn topography and hydrology analysis to determine best tracker placement. Requirements: BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering preferred. 12 years of experience in a similar CAD design or drafting role, preferably within civil, structural, or mechanical engineering fields. Associate degree in a related field at minimum. Thorough knowledge of drafting standards. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD & AutoCAD Civil. Strong proficiency in English is required with the ability to speak, read and write effectively. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated team player. Preferred Requirements: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in the solar industry. Knowledge of construction sheet sets and project design of PV plants a plus. Passion for solar a plus.
