The ideal candidate has strong U.S. income tax preparation expertise, can work independently, and thrives in a problem-solving environment. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns, leveraging our tax software tools, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service to our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review U.S. federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses.Utilize UltraTax to prepare, process, and manage tax filings efficiently.Identify tax issues, perform research when needed, and propose solutions to ensure compliance.Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify tax-related questions.Work independently to manage workload, meet deadlines, and resolve complex tax situations.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. tax laws, including state-specific regulations where applicable.(For Tax Manager level) Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching or guidance when necessary.Must-Have QualificationsProven experience preparing U.S. income tax returns.Hands-on experience with UltraTax software.Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working independently with minimal supervision.Nice-to-Have QualificationsExperience with SurePrep software.Exposure to or experience with State of Michigan tax filings.Prior experience reviewing returns or managing a small team (for higher-level roles).Preferred Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and client-facing skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Seniority level: Not ApplicableEmployment type: ContractJob function: Accounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustries: Outsourcing and Offshoring ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at LaTeam Partners by 2xWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
