AWS DevOps Engineer

Job SummaryWe’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to influence their own development. The ideal candidate will pursue their interests and grow professionally while working with our team.Required CompetenciesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.Strong experience within the AWS ecosystem, including account provisioning, IAM management, and cost optimization (billing alerts, savings plans).Solid background in CI/CD pipeline management, troubleshooting pipeline failures, and enabling new pipeline capabilities (including secret management).Experience managing Infrastructure as Code, specifically maintaining and evolving infrastructure built with AWS CDK.Hands‑on experience with Docker, including maintaining and optimizing internal Docker repositories.Knowledge of cloud security and compliance, including WAF configuration, AWS Certificate Manager renewals, and container image vulnerability management via ECR.Exposure to multi‑cloud environments, supporting specific GCP tasks and managing Azure AD / SSO authentication configurations.Experience with observability and monitoring, including dashboards, alert tuning, and analysis of AWS DevOps Guru findings.Strong troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing 500 errors, analyzing logs, identifying bottlenecks, and performing load testing.Familiarity monitoring AWS SES (email reputation) and general service health.Ability to support and advise engineering teams on AWS architectural components such as Redis, EventBridge, AWS Glue, and AWS Bedrock.Comfortable acting as a technical escalation point, providing AWS support via Slack when primary leads are unavailable.Experience creating technical estimates and cost projections for new infrastructure requirements.Advanced English proficiency.ResponsibilitiesAWS Account & Infrastructure Management: Provision and manage AWS accounts, organizational permissions, IAM roles, and cost monitoring.Security & Compliance: Monitor WAF configurations, manage certificate renewals via AWS Certificate Manager, and oversee ECR for Docker image vulnerabilities.Multi‑Cloud Support: Execute GCP‑related tasks and manage Azure AD / SSO authentication configurations.Tooling Administration: Manage access and billing for engineering tools, including Cursor and Code Rabbit.CI/CD Operations: Provision new pipelines, investigate failures or performance issues, and update pipelines to support new functionality.Infrastructure as Code: Maintain and evolve AWS CDK infrastructure to support new client and product features.Docker Management: Maintain and optimize the internal Docker repository.Observability & Reliability: Configure and maintain monitoring dashboards, optimize alert thresholds, and analyze AWS DevOps Guru insights.Incident Diagnosis: Investigate health issues, diagnose production errors, analyze logs, and perform load testing as needed.Service Monitoring: Monitor AWS SES reputation and overall service health.Consultation & Support: Act as the primary AWS escalation point via Slack and advise teams on cloud architecture decisions.Estimations & Planning: Produce technical estimates and cost projections for new infrastructure initiatives.Additional InformationHere at Applaudo Studios, our values—trust, communication, respect, excellence, and teamwork—are the keys to our success.
