Index Manager – Multi Asset Indices Join to apply for the Index Manager – Multi Asset Indices role at S&P Global. Team The Multi-Asset Index Management team manages a diverse range of high-profile indices across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and derivatives. About The Role Grade Level (for internal use): 09 Responsibilities Oversee a wide array of indices and prepare and deliver presentations to Index Committees, ensuring understanding of index performance, methodologies, and prevailing market trends. Serve as backup for other managers within the department and act as a subject matter expert for the team leader. Prepare and calculate S&P and Dow Jones branded indices, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of real-time and end‑of‑day index data to clients and end users. Perform analytical research to determine the composition of assigned indices, interpret complex index methodologies, and adjust data in the calculation systems to conform to index rules. Perform index rebalances by interpreting methodology, running models and research for adds/drops, implementing changes and communicating these to clients with a focus on quality and accuracy. Serve on index committees and present original, non‑routine analysis to support the indices the manager is responsible for. Maintain key relationships with Product Management, Client Coverage, Index Services and IT Support. Work closely with the technology group and production support to enhance system capabilities. Manage multiple projects and deadlines, including requirements gathering, analytical thinking, data compilation, and documentation. Demonstrate ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms and train new and current employees on best practices for index management. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 1‑3 Years of relevant experience. Understanding of global financial markets. Strong programming skills in Python or a similar language such as VBA or R. Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal direction. Experience working with large data sets using Excel or SQL. Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non‑routine problems in a timely manner. Superior computer skills in Excel, Word and related applications. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in business, math, economics, or finance. Ability to assume responsibility, work with others and manage projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate work performed by multiple people or groups. Experience with futures and/or options. Strong understanding of how indices are used, impact of different methodologies, and construction of non‑equity indices. Ability to learn S&P’s proprietary index calculation engines.
