HIGHWAY & CONSTRUCTION LABORER ($4000 Hiring Incentive) Job Location: NOGALES MAINTENANCE, 1340 N Hohokam Drive, Nogales AZ 85621 Hourly $18.19–$24.44, Grade 14–19, Closing Date January 20 2026 Job Summary This series exists to provide and preserve a safe and efficient transportation system for the traveling public. Positions will be assigned based on experience and qualifications listed below. Key Responsibilities Operate motorized vehicles and equipment for pavement care, preservation, landscape care, roadside shoulder restoration, and repairs. Perform signing and striping, deliver equipment and materials, and ensure environmental compliance. Schedule, assign, and oversee subordinates’ work, inspect work, train, and guide staff. Advance through the series from Highway Operations Worker (Grade 14) to Highway Operations Tech 3 (Grade 19) with increasing supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications 6 months of Roadway/Highway job‑related experience for Highway Operations Worker. 1 year for Highway Operations Tech 1, 2 years for Tech 2, and 3 years for Tech 3. Arizona Class A CDL within 90 days of hire for Highway Operations Worker; within 6 months for Tech 1–3. Commercial driver’s license with manual or automatic transmission; tanker endorsement (N) for Tech 1–3. Valid FMCSA clearance and adherence to ADOT motor‑vehicle standards. Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs. and respond within 30 minutes to a maintenance yard call. Benefits Sick leave, vacation with 10 paid holidays per year.
