Head of Research & Resourcing | Executive Search & Guaranteed Hiring in Commodities, Shipping and Financial Markets Job Title: Seafood Trader/Sales Location: South/Central America Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially representing a global foods and seafood trading business looking to further enhance their South and Central American seafood trading presence through the hire of an experienced seafood trader. With a global presence and broad customer base, our client has a solid foundation in the LatAm markets with strong growth potential for an established trader to realize their ambitions with an experienced regional team. Whilst retaining a varied and long-standing supply chain/sourcing capability, the successful applicant will be the key driver in significantly enhancing our client’s seafood trading business globally. Responsibilities Support and build-upon supplier relationships across the seafood space in South and Central America, with an emphasis on profit-driven seafood trading Actively drive business development activity, positively communicating with customers globally and suppliers in the region in all major seafood classes Maintain relationships with seafood processors/producers and suppliers in the region across fish/shellfish/fillets/frozen seafood products as well as market-specific traders where beneficial Work with internal operations and finance team to ensure efficient and robust supply chain Keep up to date with market movements and analysis to capitalize on trading/sales opportunities covering the full range of seafood products Work with the company’s international teams on supply issues, finance, quality control, logistics and product coverage. Travel to meet with prospective clients and develop business opportunities in seafood sales/trading and sourcing Actively drive PnL through stringent negotiations with seafood suppliers and customers, working with the existing team to complement existing relationships and quickly onboard new clients and suppliers to the portfolio Experience Experienced in the seafood trading, sales and sourcing Has an existing network of clients globally and contacts with South and Central American seafood processors.
