Level: Senior / Architect Industry: Payments / Financial Services About the Role We are looking for an experienced Java Architect to join a large-scale financial/payments program. This role will focus on defining end-to-end solution architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and guiding engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and resilient systems. You will work closely with product, engineering, security, and business stakeholders to design and evolve modern, cloud-ready platforms supporting high-throughput and mission-critical financial transactions. Key Responsibilities Define and own end-to-end solution and system architectures for financial and payment platforms. Design Java-based, microservices-driven architectures aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards. Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs, diagrams, and architecture documents. Guide and mentor engineering teams, ensuring architectural consistency and best practices. Ensure architectures meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and compliance requirements. Drive API strategy and integration patterns (REST, event-driven, synchronous/asynchronous). Participate in architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and design governance forums. Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams on cloud and deployment strategies. Support modernization initiatives, legacy integration, and system evolution. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong Java/J2EE background. 3+ years in an Architecture role (Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar). Strong experience designing microservices architectures using Java (Spring / Spring Boot). Solid knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and distributed systems. Experience with financial systems, payments, or transaction-heavy platforms. Understanding of security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, secure APIs). Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Nice to Have Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, messaging systems). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and SRE principles. Exposure to regulatory or compliance-driven environments (PCI, SOX, etc.). Prior experience working in hybrid or distributed teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
