ASMPT is a leading global supplier of hardware and software solutions for the manufacture of semiconductors and electronics.ASMPT is looking for a Field Service Engineer for Baja, Mexico and Monterrey, Mexico.Summary: This position is an entry to mid-level position responsible for complete field installation, startup,inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of company supplied equipment of severalproducts. Depending upon the terms of the contract or project, this may include planning, scheduling, coordinating, cost control and monitoring the work in an advisory capacity to others, as well as supervising company employees in the performance of the work. This also includes documenting all job activity. In this position the engineer is expected to become proficient in basic systems technologies. Extensive domestic and international travel required (50 - 75% travel).This position reports to the Service Manager Brazil.Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions: Leading complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.Experience with networking, SQL databases and serversProven experience and strong affinity for working with SW toolsProven experience analyzing and interpreting large amounts of (complex) data (i.e. bug reports)Providing complex product and service training to customers.Participating in and eventually guiding complex maintenance of tools, test equipment, etc., anddocumenting all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.Participating in and eventually leading complex service calls and interfacing with customerpersonnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution.Guiding assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support dataand design modifications or improvements.Performs complex and technically demanding work within technical area.Ability to troubleshoot potential problems and provide effective solutions in relation to applicationof concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes.Performs training and service programs to educate customers and staff in the proper operationand maintenance of products.Successfully demonstrate leading-edge or extensive knowledge in a technical or specialty area.May provide expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and eventuallytrain other employees.Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, industrial, will consider otherengineering disciplines)Minimum of 2 year’s experience within the SMT industry requiredExperience with SIPLACE equipment and SIPLACE software preferredExperience with DEK equipment and DEK software preferredMust be fluent in English (written and spoken)Portuguese or Spanish skills both written and spoken a plus
