About the Role The Content Strategist is a crucial, client-facing role that is responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating both with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist is responsible for more Enterprise clients and is expected to have a deep understanding of their service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Please note: internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO. What You’ll Do Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: create custom strategies and implement best practices that result in achieving our NSMs. Use project phases as foundational moments for building the initial client strategy, and continuously optimize and revise based on client goals, ongoing campaigns, and historical performance. Work closely with the Associate Director when roadblocks arise that impact strategy and goal attainment. Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns focused on ideation based on competitor and audience insights. Apply best practices such as LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production. Goal Setting: use available data to set goals for clients during their engagement period. Goals will be reviewed and approved by the Associate Director. Data sources include Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, and Ahrefs reporting. All goals must receive Associate Director approval before presentation to the client. Project Management: ensure the planned strategy is executed. Use Asana to delegate tasks to specialists and clients, ensure timely completion, and partner with project managers where present. Delegate tasks to team members and clients, set due dates, and communicate progress. Coordinate with content writers and designers to complete campaigns on time and to quality standards. Internal and External Communication: act as the main interface between clients and the team, building relationships beyond deliverables, and proactively communicating timelines, progress, and any roadblocks or opportunities. Use Slack and other channels for regular communication between bi‑weekly meetings. Communicate internal leadership about roadblocks, account growth opportunities, and changes in strategy or contact. Reporting: regularly update clients on progress and impact. Bi‑weekly meetings – report on NSM progress and deliverables. Monthly and quarterly reports; bi‑annual business review presentation. What You’ll Bring A proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on‑page optimization, and link building. Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics. Strong communication skills and comfort client‑facing with key stakeholders. Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and crawling tools. Organizational, project, and time‑management skills. Enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content. Agency experience. B2B tech and/or SaaS experience. Goals NSM Attainment: 100% MRR Retainment: 96% CSAT > 4.2 Upsells / Cross‑sells / Referrals Regularly seek opportunities for clients to grow: new service line, increased budgets, or cross‑sell. Ask for referrals at key moments such as new jobs.
