Job Summary As a Credit Risk Analyst you will play a crucial role in making prudent lending decisions on behalf of Quantum. Your primary responsibility will be to review and assess the creditworthiness of business loan applicants. This involves analyzing credit reports, financial documents, and bank statements to ensure that loans are issued to qualified and financially stable businesses. Your expertise in underwriting will contribute to the growth and stability of the lending portfolio. This role is based in Mexico City and operates in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of office-based (2 days) and remote work (3 days). Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth reviews of commercial and consumer credit bureaus to evaluate the credit history, credit scores, and payment behaviors of loan applicants. Scrutinize cash flow statements, business financials, and other financial documents to assess the financial health of prospective borrowers, including income statements, balance sheets, and tax returns. Review bank statements to verify the consistency of cash flow, business transactions, and financial stability, and identify any irregularities that may affect loan eligibility. Assess the overall risk associated with each loan application, determine the likelihood of repayment, and make recommendations accordingly. Collaborate with senior underwriters and loan officers to structure loans that meet the specific needs of borrowers while adhering to lending guidelines and risk management policies. Ensure all underwriting activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, staying updated on relevant regulations. Effectively communicate with loan officers, customers, and bank partners to gather additional information, clarify discrepancies, and provide status updates on underwriting decisions. Maintain accurate and organized records of all underwriting activities, including notes on decision rationales, document submissions, and follow‑up actions. Stay current with industry trends, underwriting best practices, and emerging risk factors, contributing to the constant improvement of underwriting processes and guidelines. Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience) Excellent English and Spanish (Please apply with an English resume). Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in business loans. Strong knowledge of commercial and consumer credit analysis. Familiarity with loan origination systems and underwriting software. Proficiency in interpreting financial statements, cash flow analysis, and credit reports. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to make sound lending decisions. Adherence to ethical and regulatory standards in lending practices.
