Senior Solar Engineer

Local Unit & Position Description DNV is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated solar expert to join our team our team in Mexico and be part of an International Team of Solar Experts providing Independent and Owners Engineering / Advisory services through the entire lifecycle of solar projects in Central America, and support colleagues from other Countries in South America and Europe. We offer a full-time position reporting to the Solar Team Leader for Latin-American. As an independent advisor, the Solar Senior Engineer will spend the majority of the time managing projects as well as conducting direct project work for customers. This position will be based in our Mexico City office. What You'll Do Will be responsible for managing teams of engineers during the execution of owners and independent engineering services for solar Projects. The role will require direct contact with the Customers as well as project control to deliver as per scope on time and budget As part of the daily work, it is expected that the Senior Solar Engineer will be involved in independent engineering tasks through the entire project lifecycle which may include feasibility studies, tender process management / support, project analysis, technology and design review, project contracts analysis, project costs and construction monitoring The Senior Solar Engineer will provide support to the Solar Team Leader on tracking business opportunities, market intelligence, develop services according to Industry needs and preparation of proposals Position Qualifications What is Required Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred) 5+ years of professional experience in the solar sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies) Experience with technical due diligence processes which may include but is not limited to site assessment, system design, energy estimates, equipment selection, contracts review and project finance Experience must also include a working knowledge of solar PV related regulations, codes, and standards Experience with IEC and other relevant certifications in the industry Experience with permitting processes for solar PV Plants Strong knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite Network in the solar industry will be also evaluated Willingness to travel across the country and internationally Valid driver's license Excellent written and verbal English communication skills We conduct pre-employment background screening What is Preferred Experience with grid connection regulation and technical assessments Experience on Project Construction, Commissioning Procedures and Acceptance Tests and Conditions Experience on Owners Engineering Services during project development and construction phases Immigration-related employment benefits, for example visa sponsorship, are not available for this position What We Offer Generous Paid Time Off (Vacation, Company Holidays, Parental Leave, and Sick) Medical, Dental, and Vision plan benefits Pension Plan Company provided life insurance plan Christmas Bonus Food Tickets Flexible work schedule with hybrid / remote opportunities Advancement opportunities Benefits may vary based on position, tenure, location, and employee election We Care, We Dare, We Share DNV is a proud equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
