Subdirector - Non Financial Risk Global Service Center (GSC) HSBC – Join our team in the Americas to lead Non‑Financial Risk (NFR) for Markets & Securities Services Operations. Role Overview The MSS Operations Non‑Financial Risk (NFR) Team seeks an experienced risk professional to manage risk and controls within the organization. Responsibilities Implement strong risk management processes and frameworks, supporting Operations business lines within risk appetite. Deliver governance, mobilisation and management of a robust and effective control framework across the region. Provide clear sight of emerging risks and incident trends, ensuring proactive and timely responses. Collaborate with US/Latin America business sectors and MSS NFR team to advance the MSS Operations strategy for risk reduction. Lead improvements to the global process environment, driving standardisation, sustainability and optimisation of operational processes. Review controls for key strategic change programmes, ensuring optimum control design and minimising transformation risk. Engage with the 2LoD and 3LoD teams as the interface to MSS Operations, supporting the remediation of high‑risk findings. Qualifications Extensive experience in Banking Operations/Back Office Operations, Global Markets business or Functions (FX, Fixed Income, Equities, Asset Servicing, Collateral) and in Operational Risk, Compliance or Audit. Proven track record of positive interaction with Senior Management. Experience working across multi‑disciplinary and multi‑cultural environments. Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language. Key Skills Strong analytical background and critical thinking; sound judgement on sensitive/gray areas. Tenacious approach, ability to challenge norms and present viable alternatives. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. High drive and motivation for complex transformational initiatives with challenging deadlines. Excellent organisational and planning skills for managing multiple large‑scale responsibilities.
