Senior Associate, TAX Software Developer Located in Mexico City, Mexico, the Senior Associate will work in the Tax‑R&D team at KTSA – KPMG Technology Services Americas. Responsibilities Conduct qualitative reviews of activities related to software development, laboratories, computing and industrial facilities, data centers, and similar environments. Review technical information and documentation from client subject‑matter experts to identify research and development activities. Understand different software development methodologies, design patterns, and high‑level architecture concepts such as OOP, Big Data, RDBMS design, IoT, Blockchain, AI, and ML. Prepare and review calculation models and memorandums. Prepare client technical reports and work papers. Organize documentation and create deliverables. Write clear, comprehensive, and exhaustive emails. Complete extensive quantitative analyses as dictated by the scope of each project. Review compliance with client guidelines and act as a liaison between clients and the team. Ensure that work assigned is completed within the stipulated budgeted time. Analyze client feedback and address repetitive errors. Report missing information and request additional information from clients. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or a similar discipline; coursework or a minor in information systems or data and analytics is preferred. 3‑4 years of relevant experience in a software engineering role (preferred). Good accounting knowledge is preferred. Experience with tax and financial items such as tax returns, trial balances, wage information, general ledgers, and project costing information. Strong proficiency in basic MS applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, or similar. Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, cloud technology (AWS, Azure), common software design patterns, data structures and algorithms, common computer infrastructure concepts, web‑based or n‑tiered architectures, SOA, micro‑services, databases, middleware, big data is strongly preferred. Experience in new product designs, including prototype and pilot model development and testing. Experience in documenting software development projects. Familiarity with analytical tools including Alteryx and Power BI. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail—quality and time conscious. Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and draw meaningful insights. Key Requirements Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results in demanding situations.
