We are seeking a skilled and driven Estimator to join our Preconstruction team. This is a mid-level position ideal for a candidate with a solid foundation in commercial construction estimating and field operations, who is ready to take on greater ownership in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates across all project phases and collaborating closely with the Preconstruction Manager, Operations Team, and external partners to ensure budget alignment and project success. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Estimating: Develop accurate cost estimates across all design phases using CSI divisions and perform detailed quantity takeoffs. Analyze drawings and specifications to create complete bid packages aligned with project requirements. Subcontractor & Consultant Coordination: Source, evaluate, and coordinate bids from subcontractors and consultants. Support scope reviews, early procurement strategies, and contract execution. Project Documentation & Risk Management: Maintain organized preconstruction documentation and track cost history for benchmarking. Contribute to early scheduling, risk assessments, and opportunity identification. Collaboration & Communication: Participate in kickoff and strategy meetings with internal teams and clients. Assist in proposal development and support continuous process improvements through clear documentation and cross-functional teamwork. Competencies Analytical Thinking: Able to evaluate complex construction documents, scopes, and cost data to build accurate estimates Attention to Detail: Demonstrates precision in quantity takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and bid comparisons Communication: Effectively collaborates with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders across departments Process-Oriented: Helps build and refine systems for consistency, accuracy, and scalability Initiative: Takes ownership of tasks, seeks solutions independently, and proactively contributes to team success Adaptability: Thrives in a high-growth environment with evolving priorities and project scopes Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, and estimating best practices Qualifications 3–5 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor 3+ years of field experience in commercial construction preferred Experience across multiple commercial asset classes (e.g., retail, storage, mixed-use, industrial) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field Advanced proficiency with Bluebeam for digital takeoffs Familiarity with Procore (Project Management and Preconstruction workflows) Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and Google Workspace Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Prior experience contributing to or improving estimating processes and tools is a plus
