Chief Accountant

Chief Accountant The Chief Accountant ensures that the accounting is correct, transparent, complete, and delivered on time, always guaranteeing 100% compliance with all relevant local legislation (e.g. statutory accounting standards, IFRS, tax law) and internal group accounting guidelines. The CoA is responsible of all auditing process inside the company and related to contracts, payments, and taxes. Key Responsibilities General Guarantee 100% compliance with all relevant local legislation and internal group accounting guidelines. Ensure the accounting is correct, transparent, and complete, with appropriate accruals/deferrals and true and fair financial statements. Assure timely submission of accurate financial information to all stakeholders. Assist the Finance Manager in managing the year‑end audit process to secure clean Early Warning Memorandums and Management Letters. Drive efficiency by streamlining processes and using available tools while maintaining quality. Ensure that accounting operations are fully integrated from a process, systems, and control perspective. Support the Finance Manager in establishing effective tax management with HQ specialists and external advisors. Lead projects related to accounting system changes and promptly notify about system issues. Bookkeeping Maintain the fixed asset register and supervise asset accounting. Manage accounts payables ledger and periodic payment runs with segregation of duties. Control the accounts receivable ledger and dunning process. Supervise bank statement postings and reconcile bank accounts. Reconcile all tax accounts. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to local authorities. Maintain the general ledger and sanity checks for master data. Conciliate open items. Period Closing Review and optimize liquidity, monitoring cash collections and payments. Compile monthly and annual closings and communicate the timetable with local and corporate teams. Carry out depreciation runs, post accruals, deferrals, revaluations, write‑offs, and provisions. Reconcile all clearing and inter‑company accounts. Perform additional period‑closing postings as needed. Prepare annual statutory financial statements. Conduct thorough reviews of monthly reports and financial statements before submission. Coordinate all tax obligations monthly and yearly with local team and external advisors. Auditing Coordinator Coordinate all auditing processes inside the company (related to taxes, contracts, payments, etc.). Review monthly reports and financial statements before submission. Supervise bank statement postings and bank account reconciliations. People Management Build a highly engaged and motivated team. Develop and update job descriptions for all accounting staff. Ensure sufficient resources and appropriate qualifications for each position. Agree on annual objectives and link variable pay to achievement levels. Conduct biannual performance reviews with clear, honest, and fair feedback. Promote development and internal training to elevate knowledge levels. Ensure key processes are documented and checklists used. Education and Qualifications Holds a relevant accounting qualification (Certified Management Accountant). Experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar organization. Knowledge and Skills Vast knowledge of local tax regulations, local GAAP, and IFRS. Strong leadership skills. Effective communication based on facts with internal and external stakeholders. IT literate with SAP knowledge. Collaboration, empathy, and open communication as teamwork skills. Structured and well‑organized. Self‑motivated and self‑directed, able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced team.
