Company OverviewThe Vertex Companies, Inc. is a leading multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm that provides forensic consulting, engineering design, construction management, claims & dispute resolution, environmental, and digital solutions to insurance carriers, sureties, law firms, real estate owners, property managers, public agencies, and commercial clients.Environmental Scientist ResponsibilitiesConduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and field investigation activitiesConduct Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and field investigation activitiesAssist clients with the acquisition of regulatory permits and other operations permits from civic agenciesAssist clients with environmental compliance assessments and auditsWrite client reports and submit for senior review (in English and Spanish)Represent Vertex to the client in a professional mannerSchedule and coordinate subcontractor activities for projectMake employee safety a priority, in accordance with corporate policyAnalyze third party laboratory results for soil and water samples and write detailed technical reportsQualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related fieldMinimum of 1 year of working experience in Phase I and II ESAsAbility to travel to client sites, sometimes with little notice and for extended periods of time (valid driver's license required)Experience with STPS, PROTECCION CIVIL, and SEMARNAT regulationsCommunicate efficiently and effectively (written and verbal in English and Spanish) with Vertex staff, clients and subcontractorsWork effectively as part of team or aloneMeet deadlines, both internally and externallyCustomer service orientationValid DC-5 permit for training and First aid and CPR certificates preferred, but not requiredAdditional InformationVertex is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
