Corporate Services IT is a pivotal part of the HSBC Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. CSIT combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition.Main Activities:Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications focused on enhancing employee experience.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver seamless mobile experiences.Integrate with backend services hosted on GCP using RESTful APIs, Firebase, or GraphQL, third‑party services etc.Implement intuitive user interfaces and ensure optimal performance across a range of Android devices.Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration processes.Optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.Ensure security and compliance standards are met in all mobile solutions.Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and best practices.Contribute to agile ceremonies and sprint planning as part of a collaborative development team.Implement AI‑driven features such as personalized recommendations, voice assistants, and contextual navigation.Qualifications Required:Mandatory:3+ years of experience in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development.Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development.Experience integrating with cloud services, preferably GCP (Firebase, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub).Experience with Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile app integration with backend services.Familiarity with AI/ML integration in mobile apps (e.g., Core ML, NLP, recommendation engines).Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for Android (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions).Experience with mobile analytics and performance monitoring tools.Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.At HSBC we offer our colleagues a greater number of leave days so that they can fully enjoy their wedding, take care of the new member of the family, or grieve the loss of a family member.
